ALGÜNA Meter

An interactive tool that turns each purchase into seabed. Pick how many grams you're buying and see how much seaweed is pulled from the gulf by hand, and how much light gets back in.

The idea

Every ALGÜNA purchase cuts Undaria by hand and opens a clearing in the gulf's forest. The meter makes it visible: you're on the seabed looking up, and as you move the scale — from 100 g to 5 kg — the clearing opens and the light comes in.

What it shows

Five figures that change live: how much you're buying, how many fresh kilos come out of the water, how many square metres of seabed get light again, how much coast is freed and how many minutes of diving it takes. Using the 2026 harvest estimates: 1 kg dried is about 10 kg of seaweed taken from the gulf.

The scene is drawn in real time, with sound. This clip is sped up.
